Normal Collection Activity
In groups, each of you will collect 100 data observations:
- Enter the data in your
spreadsheet
- Sort it

Find mean/standard deviation (=average, =stdev)
- Find values 1 standard
deviation below, and 1 standard deviation above mean is (z score
of -1 and 1)
- Find values 2 standard
deviation below, and 2 standard deviation above mean is (z score
of -2 and 2)
- Find values 3 standard
deviation below, and 3 standard deviation above mean is (z score
of -3 and 3)
- Calculate how many of your
values are within 1 standard deviation of the mean.
- Calculate how many of your
values are
within 2 standard deviation of the mean.
- Calculate how many of your
values are
within 3 standard deviation of the mean.
- Create a histogram
- Paste relevant info on
summary sheet
